A year ago, Grease Trap was basically an idea, a logo, a Facebook event and me saying, “Surely there are enough homosexuals in Western Sydney to fill a room?”
And somehow… here we are.

One year later.

And I know we joke a lot about being filthy and fabulous and getting in the trap, but Grease Trap genuinely means an enormous amount to me.

Because this was never just about putting on another drag show.

It was about creating something here.

In Western Sydney.

A place where q***r people could come together without feeling like we had to travel into the city to find our community.

Q***r spaces don’t just exist because somebody puts an event on. They exist because people choose to show up.

And for twelve months, you have kept choosing to show up.

Right here.

In Penrith.

And I am incredibly fu***ng proud of that.

🎉 GREASE TRAP IS TURNING ONE! 🎉

One year ago we threw open the doors to an LGBTQIA+ party in Penrith and hoped people would come.

You did.

Over the past 12 months you’ve packed the dancefloor, screamed for drag, tipped performers, supported local DJs, made new friends, kissed strangers in the alley, and helped prove that Western Sydney deserves thriving q***r nightlife.

So now it’s time to celebrate.

Penrith’s favourite q***r party is back this Pride Month - louder, prouder, and greasier than ever!

Grease Trap returns on Friday June 19th 2026 at 8pm, taking over Elton Chong for a high-energy night of drag, DJs, and unapologetic q***r celebration.

Hosted by Western Sydney’s diva of drive-thru, Burger Queen, this is your invitation to get sweaty on the dancefloor, celebrate community, and honour the legacy of q***r nightlife - past, present, and future.

This Pride Month edition is all about visibility, joy, and a little bit of chaos. No frills, no rules - just good music, great performers, and a room full of people ready to party.
