This week’s Taco Tuesday is all about carnitas.

We cook different cuts of pork together, slowly, so you get a bit of everything in every taco juicy meat, crispy bits, and that good pork fat that makes carnitas, carnitas.

We make our tortillas by hand, using fresh masa, and cook them to order.

Just the way we grew up eating tacos in Mexico.

Every week, we make a different special.

Every dish on our menu is inspired by the flavours of our childhood, and few things take us back quite like a proper gordita from southern Mexico. If you've ever had one there, you'll know exactly what we mean.

Our winter take starts with a freshly made gordita, filled with crispy pork belly, topped with guacamole, fermented habanero salsa, and finished with a drizzle of queso fresco.

You can share it... but we all know the best way to eat a gordita is exactly as it comes, one delicious bite after another.

For years, ever since the days of Nativo and now at Nu'u, there's been one request we've heard over and over again:

"When are you doing birria tacos with consomé?"

The truth is... we never wanted to do it just because everyone else was. We've always believed that a great taco should hold all of its flavour on its own. If we were ever going to serve consomé, it had to be worthy of the taco. Packed with real flavour, a little kick, and made the way we believe it should be.

So we waited, we tested it and we refined it.
And now, after years of your requests, we're finally ready.

🌮 Birria Tacos with Consomé have officially arrived at Nu'u exclusively for our new lunch menu.

Nu'u Lunch, will be available Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm, featuring a very small and rotating menu inspired by the flavours of the street.

Simple, comforting and made with the same care as everything we do here at Nu'u. ❤️

Our first lunch special is: 3 Birria Tacos + our house-made consomé for just $24.

This is only the beginning. We've got another lunch dish coming very soon, and we can't wait to share it with you.

Thank you for asking for this year after year. We listened... we just wanted to make sure we got it right.
