“Alegre is happiness, like the name suggests."

Meet Steven, Venue Manager at Alegre.

Steven takes care of the fundamentals: ensure our guests (and staff) are happy, keep the venue looking pristine, and maintain our high standard of service. His philosophy for the customer experience is “fine dining excellence with a casual feel.”

Growing up in Brittany, northern France, Steven became accustomed to the world of hospitality through the bakery owned by his parents. He then went on to study hospitality in France, and after university he immersed himself in various hardworking internships in fine dining.

He’s worked his way through every level of the industry, from kitchen hand to waiter to management, which gave him a crucial understanding of how a venue runs day to day.

“Alegre is happiness, like the name suggests. The vibes here are good. We have a lot of parties and plenty of events, which tells you everything. We like to chat and feel close to our customers.”

And for Steven’s favourite menu items: “I love steak, so I’ll always go for the steak, and our most famous dish, the lamb rack. To start, salmon ceviche, it brings a lot of Mexican flavour. Ancient churro for dessert, and a Tommy’s Marg to drink - definitely.”
