After almost 10 years, the time has come for our family to say goodbye to The Whistler.
We're excited to share that The Whistler has been sold and will continue under new family ownership.
Over the past decade, The Whistler has been so much more than a business to us. It's been a place where memories were made, friendships were formed, and a real community was built!
To our staff, our regulars, and the locals who made this place what it is — thank you. For your loyalty, your kindness, and for choosing to support a family business week after week.
We hope The Whistler is as good to Trudie & Lee as it has been to us!

Born and bred in the Upper Hunter Valley, Ash Horner grew up surrounded by vineyards long before making his own mark as a winemaker.

Before returning to his home turf, Ash honed his craft with some of Australia’s most respected names, including Rosemount Estate, Penfolds, Mount Pleasant, Saint Clair, Tamburlaine, and leading producers from Coonawarra. The result is a deep, practical understanding of winemaking and a reputation for producing wines of exceptional quality.

With Horner Wines, it’s less about wine snobbery and more about craftsmanship. Each wine is made in small batches, with every grape selected on its individual merit and handled with care to produce wines that are distinctive, expressive, and true!
