The is a really effective way to manage varroa levels in a hive. Not only is it a treatment which penetrates the brood cappings (so it works fast) but it also kills the varroa under the brood cappings before they have a chance to damage or weaken the pupa.
We are rolling it out across the throughout the Illawarra / Shoalhaven Region as a service to all beekeepers to help them maintain a treatment regime. The only other organic treatment available that penetrates the brood cappings is Formic-Pro which we are also using when levels get high.
When levels are low we use organic oxalic acid strips in combination with the and queen trapping to entice the mites onto the trapped frames.
