Located one of Australia's most famous and popular beaches, Surfers Paradise Surf Life Saving Club provides an ideal beachfront dining and bar experience in the heart of Surfers Paradise. The Club was first established in 1925 to attract tourists to the area by providing a safe beach for swimmers. Surfers Paradise owes its progress and status – and the safety of its visitors – to earlier generations of benefactors who had a vision. While providing an outstanding model of surf lifesaving on the busiest and best-known beach in Australia, the quality and courage of our members go beyond personal interest. In 1958 acts of heroism and self-sacrifice were displayed when members of the club were catapulted into the limelight when they heroically participated in a shark attack rescue. This resulted in the club receiving the “Meritorious Award for Bravery” from Surf Life Saving Australia and six members receiving Royal Humane Society awards.
