He has been found alongside names such as James Morrison, Kate Ceberano, Emma Pask, Tom Burlinson & many more.
⭐️ Organist DARREN HEINRICH's influences incorporate the entire spectrum of the jazz idiom, from its earliest ragtime roots to modern jazz. He regularly gigs with his own trio & freelances with a wide variety of acts both locally & abroad. Darren studied extensively with Hammond masters Dr Lonnie Smith & Tony Monaco.
⭐️ Drummer NIC CECIRE’s work in pop & rock includes playing with artists such as Wendy Mathews, The Whitlams, Jenny Morris, Boy George/ Culture Club, Glenn Shorrock, Grace Knight, Rhonda Burchmore & Christine Anu. He also works with jazz vocalists Tina Harrod, Lily Dior, Trish Delaney Brown & more, as well as jazz bands including the Catholics, Mike Nock, Greg Coffin Trio, Jeremy Sawkins, Adam Miller & many others. Each Monday in September Sarah will be bringing her unique existential indie singer-songwriter vibes to Butchers Brew, teaming up with a different great local artist each week. Together they bring a residency filled with old songs, brand new songs, stories & a sing along or two for everyone to enjoy. The artists coming along are the incredible LEROY LEE, HUCK HASTINGS, SAM BUCKINGHAM & EMMA JONES. Each week is its own adventure & a great way to warm the heart at the start of the week.
Sarah is so incredibly excited to collaborate with the one & only ⭐️ SAM BUCKINGHAM. They have been wanting to do something together for a long time, so this will be a really special night. A real inspiration on so many levels, Sam sings from the soul & brings people together with her supportive, frank & gorgeous songs.
With a voice that silences rooms & songs that cut straight to the bone, Sam has spent years building one of Australia's most devoted live followings. She’s lapped the country six times on sold out headline tours & jumped on tour with some of the country's biggest names incl.Paul Kelly, Kate Miller-Heidke, The Whitlams & Ben Lee. She’s also played at Woodford, Wild Village & Queenscliff Music Festivals, & toured with the Festival of Small Halls.
Her new album “BeautifulMachine” - a cross-Pacific collaboration with Australian-born/ Nashville-based producer Clare “LOLLIES” Reynolds - debuted at #4 on the ARIA charts in March 2026. Sam wrote the songs for Beautiful Machine on hikes, beach walks, lying on the couch in her underwear & on long drives to see her family (while someone else was driving, of course)/ These songs mark a new chapter in her songwriting career, & in her life.
“I’ve been falling deeper in love with my body & the Earth” says Sam. “In a time when we’re seemingly obsessed with building ‘bigger & better’ technology, all I can think about is how the natural world is so brilliantly designed - it’s the most beautiful machine we’ll ever have. ⭐️ SARAH BELKNER is a singer, instrumentalist, songwriter, arranger, composer, musical director & studio producer living on Gadigal Country.
Her Ep ‘Humans’ (2015) & two albums ‘But You Are, But It Has’ (2017) & ‘The Apple’ (2023) have seen her gain accolades such as Double J album of the week, a song featured in the hit series ‘Offspring’ & performances at The Great Escape UK, as well as supporting artists including Sarah Blasko, Lisa Mitchell & The Veils.
She has become a revered touring musician/ MD performing with many great artists including Missy Higgins, Neil Finn & Tim Minchin. She has also sat in the producers seat for the likes of Missy Higgins, Brendan Maclean & Leah Flanagan.

THE KYLE CHENOWETH QUINTET formed out of an exploration into how visual stimuli can inspire & shape musical ideas. The band released their debut album Perspectives, featuring Chenoweth’s original compositions, launched last November at The Jazzlab. Kyle has since taken the project to Adelaide (COMA), performed across Melbourne & continued developing new collaborative and original work. Kyle has performed with the Australian National Youth Jazz Orchestra in 2024 & 2025, appearing alongside world-class artists such as Remy Le Boeuf, Wayne Bergeron, Gordon Goodwin & James Morrison. Kyle has also performed at the Sydney Con Jazz Festival (recorded by the ABC) as well as the Melbourne International Jazz Festival. He is rapidly establishing himself as a promising & forward-thinking voice in jazz.

Tonight, they’ll be revisiting music from Casey’s album The Struggle, as well as debuting some new compositions from both members & playing some of their favourite standards.
