New beer alert! Our brand new Whey Stout, made in collaboration with Long Paddock Cheese is now on tap and in can!

We tipped 400L of whey into the kettle and brewed a thick, luscious tasting stout that is slightly sweet and slightly umami (now that's a trick).

It's only about for a very limited time, so come on into the Taproom now and try it out. Your fave bottlo might even stock some cans as well...

BUCKS FOR BROOK - THURSDAY 25th JUNE, 7PM AT THE TAPPY.

This is a fundraiser for local legend Brook Sykes, who damaged his leg end during the 94.9 MainFM Main Game 2026 fundraiser.

Brook injured his Achilles tendon during the Main Game, playing for the Rockatoos. He is a self-employed gardener, so this is a bad outcome. The fundraiser is to help Brook get through the next few months as he recovers from the injury.

There will be an all-star  line up of:
* Tirimasu Misterioso (Castlemaine’s premier dessert-flavoured party band)
* DJs including Emotional Rescue
* Dancing
* Raffles and games

And for only $30, the ticket includes a bloody 2-COURSE MEAL!! You can help a brother out with a full belly, and maybe win some prizes.

Whether you’re a triumphant Rockatoo, gallant Galah or just a lover of footy, radio and/or fundraisers, this promises to be an epic time! You just have to show up.

Melbourne’s rising superstars of the alt-country scene The Smith & Western Jury are hittin’ the road to promote their new single Lucky Stars and they are stopping by the Taproom!

Their music is a rock-driven punch laced with a western twinge - familiar yet all their own. Their 2024 debut album Hotel Texas stamped them as a must-see live act, having owned Out on the Weekend, Queenscliff and Tamworth festivals. Their last single, Rolling the Dice was a tasty desert-baked treat inspired by a trip through Joshua Tree.

They are supported by Elise Drake - a new name round these parts. Elise hails from up north, Barapa Barapa country, and her music takes the darker sounds of 90’s indie rock and combines them with sweet, harmony laden pop hooks. You’re gonna love her.

And to make it one night to remember, there will also be a DJ playing the best smokin’ tunes to keep the party vibe happening! That DJ has a name - they call him Ben Mastwyk... yes, that Ben of the Millions and the Energy, the cosmic cowboy himself! Last time he was down our way, he showered us with in $1M dollar notes.

The @94.9mainfm Main Game is on Sunday, and kick-ons (pun fully intended) are at The Taproom.

Kick on after the Main Game with party faves , playing Electro party rock of the finest quality - perfect for celebrating a mighty Galah win (or... a Rockatoo win if it comes to that).

There will also be (You Am I) spinning the vinyl to kick start the arvo.

And of course, it is FREE! So head north from Camp and land at the Tappy for the party kick-ons.

Or just come along - witnessing The Main Game is optional (but you really should see it - footy at its finest).

The game is 12-4pm with lots of extra stuff at Camp Reserve and kick-ons shall start at shortly after.

This is Sam and Andrew, aka our brewers, picking up some whey from our mates at Long Paddock Cheese at The Mill Castlemaine. It was a long whey to go, across the carpark.

Why? Well it has something to do with a stout and the Obsidian Dark Beer Festival.

Raw, immersive and deeply human, this is a show for anyone who’s ever needed to be reminded that it’s okay to feel.

Based on Gadigal land, Monstress are a five-piece all-female and non-binary creative collective blending jazz-infused grooves, spoken word and lush harmonies, led by bassist and vocalist Sarah Homeh, with influences ranging from Tank & The Bangas to Doja Cat, Little Simz and Erykah Badu.
