Did you know the name Seventy Eight on Rundle means so much more to me than simply the number of our building? 🤍
When I first began looking into the business, I didn’t know its street number. It wasn’t until I arrived that I discovered it was number 78—a number that has always held a very special place in my family.
My uncle, Kevin O’Connell, was an Australian champion speedway rider who raced under the number 78. He sadly passed away when I was just a baby, but his number lived on within our family.
When I told my Nan at the time, about the café and what I planned to call it, she simply said, “It’s a sign.”
Our beautiful logo was designed by my good friend Sami Glastonbury who honoured the history and character of our heritage building with its Art Deco-inspired design, while still giving it our own unique touch.
So, Seventy Eight on Rundle is more than just our address—it represents family, history and a very special connection that was simply meant to be.
