QUIZ NIGHT RULES
1. Maximum 6 people per team. Each team is required to come up with a TEAM NAME and will select a TEAM CAPTAIN.
2. Quiz consists of 6 rounds, 10 questions per round.
3. Each question has only one answer and a correct answer will score 10 points. Submitting more than one answer or general description will be scored as incorrect.
4. Neatly write your answers. Use the pencil provided on your table in case you have to erase.
5. Each question will be READ TWICE and an allowance of 30 seconds is given before the next question is read. After, each round, ALL questions will be read once before the next category is introduced.
6. After each round, answer sheets have to be turned into the judges during the time allowed at the end of each round (30 seconds is the allowed time), who will in turn pass your answers to another table (ANOTHER TEAM) for marking.
7. Correct Answers to be read out after each round and marking done at the same time.
8. Correct spelling on the answer sheet is not always required, however, the judges or the ones marking must be able to recognize your answers.
9. Electronic devices or other resource materials (phone, laptop, book etc.) are strictly prohibited during Game play. All phones must lay flat, with screens facing down, in the center of the table. No asking the audience or seeking any help from them. Should it be necessary for you to use your phone for a call, you are asked to leave and will not be permitted re-entry until the end of that particular round. Teams found to be violating this rule will forfeit the round.
10. Unless specified, full names must be indicated when the question asks for a name
11. Every question you challenge will be addressed at the end of each round and resolved IMMEDIATELY before moving to the next round. No challenges will be accepted at the end of the quiz. For every question you challenge the judges on and end up wrong, 10 points will be deducted from your team
12. Although we appreciate spirited debate, The Quiz Emcee in consultation with the judges will have a final say on the disputed answers and the judge’s committee decision is final.
13. In an event of a tie, a tie breaker question between all tied tables will be used to determine the winner.
14. In the spirit of the Game, taunting your friends is allowed but please avoid hate speech, racial slurs, insults and any form of confrontation amongst teams. Failure to observe this rule, will result in instant disqualification.
HINT: Keep your team discussion at a low volume unless you want the neighboring team to eavesdrop.
