What a wonderful weekend of quality pool we witnessed this past weekend at Good Fellas Sports Bar and Pool Hall. We had our first big comp of this year, the much anticipated R40k Comp and what a massive turnout and success it was. We would like to appreciate every player who took their time to enter and participate in this epic event, just one of many more to come as the year unfolds, just watch the space. The comp attracted SA Under 23 number 1 blackball player Msizi Sosibo, Newly crowned SA's Masters Champion "The Tiger" Rajah Naidoo, SA's Men's number 1 seed Harry Houdini, SA's Ladies number 2 seed Erin Lazarus, former protea players such as Mervin Akaloo,Vegan, current Protea players Mongezi,Kumi,Jeremy, even the BSA Co-President Mr Vincent Pillay briefly showed his face. We even had the peoples coach Siya, the list is endless but all in all, Many thanks to everyone who helped to plan and run the event.
Massive congratulations go to South Africa's number one seed Harry who played mouthwatering pool which saw him go all the way in both lives and see him claim a whooping R24000 in the early hours of Monday morning as it was a long and gruesome road to get all the way. Harry had to overcome a lot obstacles along the way and left and lot of casualties along the way.
Well done to young prodigy Ntando who fell off in the 2nd life final and ofcourse a big Well-done to Mervin Akaloo who was a finalist in the 1st life final. The following players also did well to earn some podium finishes in the process : Jeremy,Desigan Chetty, Mthokozisi(Mpex) and Neelan.
Thank you to Alison's Billiards for running the tournament and also servicing the tables and making sure that they roll beautifully before and during the tournament.
