While one door is closing, we hold onto hope that another will open in the future — a chance for us to continue sharing our passion for hospitality and this wonderful community. 💛

🎤 They say echoes bounce off the mountains in Underberg… but Don Seagreen doesn’t need the help. The man has a voice so big, it could probably carry from Sani Pass to the top of Garden Castle without breaking a sweat.

This isn’t just singing—it’s a mountain-sized experience. His voice could wake the trout in the river, charm the sheep in the fields, and still have enough left to get every soul at Charlies swaying with a sundowner in hand. Add in his supercharged charisma, and you’ve got yourself an afternoon that’s pure magic.

This August at Charlies, we’re bringing you music so good, you might just hand over your immunity idol voluntarily.

Introducing Kith and Kin – a family band so full of talent, it’s basically genetic.

🧼 Courtney has been singing since she could stand in the shower — the shampoo bottles were her first audience, and they still talk about that solo.
🎸 Jordan picked up a guitar sometime around his first braai and never put it down. Legend has it he even plays in his sleep.
🥁 Stephanie started on drums while still in the womb — her mom says she kept perfect rhythm with her kicks.
🧬 And Daniel, the dad, passed on every musical bone in his body and now plays backup… in life and in the band.

Together, they bring country folk harmonies that wrap around you like a good mountain sunset — warm, a little nostalgic, and totally unforgettable.

The first chapter was a sparkling prologue, filled with the fizz and fanfare of Champagne, laughter that bubbled over, and friendships that popped up as easily as the corks.

But as all good stories go, the plot thickens.

This July, on the 31st, we invite you to turn the page and dive deep into Chapter One: Merlot — a character with layers as rich as the mountain soil it grows from, and a personality bold enough to steal the spotlight.

Merlot isn’t just a wine; she’s a tale of contrast. Smooth yet complex. Silky with a backbone of spice. Sometimes misunderstood, but always captivating once you give her a chance. Like that intriguing novel you pick up on a whim and can’t put down.

Join us as we gather to sip, savour, and share stories. Expect more than just a tasting — this is a celebration of flavour and fellowship. We’ll serve a selection of Merlot wines, each glass telling its own story, paired perfectly with canapés designed to bring out every note, every nuance.
