The Festival of Food at FYRE is a two day culinary and open fire celebration taking place at Olijvenkraal Wine Farm and FYRE Dining from Saturday 19th to Sunday 20th September. Bringing together exceptional food, live music, wine and the art of open fire cooking, the festival offers different experience options, with each event requiring its own ticket as part of the wider festival.
Saturday 19th features an interactive, open-fire multi-course sharing feast hosted by Chefs Darren Badenhorst and Jan Braai. After this expert culinary experience the main festival portion of the weekend begins with a live music performance from Kai Liam Connor. There will be wine tastings available from Boschendal, Old Road Wine Co., Fryer’s Cove Wines, Winning Wine Consultants, Patina Stellenbosch, Joseph Barry, Andiamo, Mt Vernon, Long Dog Wines, Long Barn Vineyards and Here & Now, as well as a premium brandy tasting with Sommelier Shane Mumba. Throughout the festival there will be lawn games and refreshments available from San Pellegrino, Acqua Panna, Perrier and more. Additionally, guests can enjoy complimentary Stella Artois on tap. There will also be gourmet takeaway options available for purchase which are served straight off the fire. As a highlight event, a late night DJ afterparty will take place featuring Oli Ditz.
On Sunday 20th a relaxed, family-friendly outdoor garden feast will take place. This event has been designed to create a laid-back day on the lawn. There will be casual flame-cooked dishes, continuous live music performances from Brandon Lee Hunt, various vendor pop-ups and open garden tasting bars with Andiamo adding to the experience. Guests will also be able to enjoy complimentary Stella Artois on tap.
