The world lost comedy legend Catherine O'Hara yesterday at age 71, but her impact on the LGBTQ+ community will live on forever.

While Catherine gave us unforgettable performances in Home Alone and Beetlejuice, it was her role as Moira Rose in Schitt's Creek that cemented her as a true q***r icon.

When asked why LGBTQ+ fans connected so intensely with Moira, Catherine smiled and simply said, "Well, they're the best kind of people."

But her allyship went far beyond clever one-liners. Catherine was moved to tears filming the love story between David and Patrick on Schitt's Creek. "To see him be loved by this good good man was just killer to me," she revealed. "There are so many takes where I turn my back to the camera...I had Kleenex behind me, trying to get my face back in order to play the scene."

She didn't just play a loving mother to a pansexual son on TV - she genuinely celebrated and championed LGBTQ+ lives both on and off screen. Rest in power, Catherine.

"🎬 Pride 2: Solidarity Forever (2026) 👉 Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton, Andrew Scott, Florence Pugh

The banner is dusty, but the message is louder than ever. In Pride 2: Solidarity Forever, set forty years after the historic alliance, the village of Onllwyn is facing a modern threat: a massive corporate takeover that plans to turn their valley into a high-tech private estate, destroying the local heritage. Meanwhile, a new generation of q***r activists in London is feeling disconnected and disillusioned by the commercialization of their movement.

When a young, fiery activist (Florence Pugh) discovers the original ""Le****ns and G**s Support the Miners"" (LGSM) archives, she realizes the only way to win is to revive the old alliance. She travels to Wales to seek help from the legendary Cliff (Bill Nighy) and the indomitable Hefina (Imelda Staunton), who are now the guardians of the town's history. Andrew Scott returns in a poignant role, bridging the gap between the original struggles and the modern fight for justice.

The film captures the same infectious energy, humor, and heart of the original. As the flamboyant city activists meet the rugged valley locals once more, they discover that while the enemies have changed—from Thatcher to corporate algorithms—the power of standing together remains the most potent weapon.

Filled with anthemic music, sharp British wit, and tear-jerking moments of humanity, Pride 2 is a celebration of community. It proves that solidarity isn't just a chapter in a history book; it's a living, breathing force that can change the world all over again."

Most of you know Robert Guillaume as Benson, the sharp-tongued butler who became TV royalty, but his most profound legacy came from a father's grief and the courage to speak his truth.

In 1990, at the peak of his career - playing the Phantom of the Opera as the first Black actor in the role - Guillaume lost his 33-year-old son Jacques to AIDS.

In a raw Parade interview, he spoke about accepting his son's homosexuality while wrestling with guilt as an absent father. "I loved him without qualification and accepted his homosexuality," he said. "I still hoped he'd find direction for his life."

Guillaume became one of the first major celebrities to publicly appear at AIDS fundraisers during the height of the crisis, when most of Hollywood stayed silent.

He showed up when it mattered most - not just as a two-time Emmy winner, but as a grieving father determined to honor his son's memory by fighting the stigma.

Rest in power, Robert. You broke barriers on screen and showed up for our community when we needed allies most.

Adam Lambert turns 44 today, and we're celebrating a trailblazer who changed the game for LGBTQ artists. When he auditioned for American Idol in 2008, he genuinely thought being gay would end his chances.

"I had seen people who were obviously q***r on the show before, and it seemed to be something they were rejected over," he admitted. He'd been out to friends and family for 8 years, but when photos of him kissing another man leaked before the finale, the backlash was brutal.

A year later, he performed at the 2009 AMAs with dancers, suggestive moves, and an impromptu kiss with his bass player. ABC threatened him with a lawsuit and banned him from Good Morning America.

When replaying the performance, they blurred his mouth during the kiss - but had no problem showing Madonna and Britney's 2003 kiss uncensored. "I'd been in a bubble in LA amongst artists, weirdos, and I didn't realize that that kind of thing would ruffle feathers the way it did," Adam said.

But he refused to back down, becoming the first openly gay artist to top the Billboard 200 and paving the way for today's LGBTQ artists.
