NEW WORK IN THE GALLERY!
Hidden from public view since Sharon Bischoff’s 2021 solo exhibition, Scratching the Surface, and her 2023 Solo Studios exhibition, Inside Out & Outside In, these works form part of a deeply introspective body of work in which Sharon explores the unseen aspects of people and situations — the hidden narratives beneath the surface.
Sharon describes these artworks as an exploration of how profoundly our environment influences not only what we see, but how we choose to see it.
The acrylic portrait RABAN depicts a man who is present, yet unseen for who he truly is.
The mixed media work FEARLESS reflects Sharon’s exploration of different mediums and subject matter. Graffiti, masks and skulls became recurring motifs in a larger body of work investigating the tension between internal and external worlds — the understanding that what is visible on the outside seldom reveals what is truly happening within.
Many more works from this compelling series will be presented in Sharon Bischoff’s upcoming solo exhibition, Inner Weather, opening at Blacksmith Yard in June.
