Did you know that mixers like tonic can often mask the taste of the flavourful botanicals in the gin? Yes, like a good whiskey, gin is best appreciated in its purest form – neat. That is how we start off our tasting platters at the Green Prince. First, you’ll taste the gins straight – with no frills. You’ll then be able to add the tonics little-by-little, to see how the taste changes. It’s a fun way to get to know the different natural flavours in each gin and to find your perfect gin-to-tonic ratio. But beware – it takes a small amount of gin to go from a budding alchemist to a babbling one.

Sangria made with Inverroche Verdant is the best Sangria I’ve ever had! I expected it to be good but not THAT good...
I’m so thrilled by summer’s arrival that I want to celebrate with one summer cocktail after another and spells summer and party! The beauty of Sangria is that you can make it ahead of time in big batches.

My green Verdant Sangria with Inverroche Gin's Verdant Gin is made with green fruit and rose geranium. Rose geranium enhances the slight rose/Turkish Delight hint in the gin and is really essential in this recipe.

*Verdant Sangria* (makes 2 drinks)
120 ml Inverroche Verdant
200 ml fruity Chenin Blanc
30 ml simple syrup (half sugar, half boiling water)
160 ml chopped green grapes and green melon
3 fresh lime wheels
1 Rose Geranium leaf
Mix everything in a jug and put in the fridge. Let the fruit soak for 12 to 24 hours, stirring occasionally. When ready to serve, discard the rose geranium leaf and serve with the fruit in wine glasses with ice. You can add some freshly chopped fruit for extra greenness. If it’s too sweet add a splash of soda water. Garnish with a fresh rose geranium leaf. I also added a rose geranium flower and fragrant confetti bush.
