Today we were thrilled to take guests to experience the veggie growing team at Goedverwacht who are busy preparing organic produce for our Garden Bistro. A big thank you to Merle hulle for treating us to a wonderful coffee and carrot cake after the tour too!

This week’s menu training was all about seafood, with our cooks focusing on perfectifying four main seafood dishes: our Velddrif Bouillabaisse, the Thai inspired Voyager Mussel Pot, and our Mauritian Crab Curry. We also experimented with changing our very own Coconut and Saffron Prawn Linguine but the light had faded by the time it was plated so we will have cook and shoot that again! All scrumptious spice-trade inspired food for winter that we can’t wait to share with you soon!

Our plucky electrician McNeil found himself in the right place at the right time while we were busy preparing our menu for the Flying Fig at Today’s taste test set included Mauritian Chicken Curry, Coc au Vin and Nasi Goreng and of course our delicious Peri-Peri Chicken burger with its own special sauce. McNeil says 10/10! Stay tuned for opening details. 🥂

Welcome to all our new followers. Thanks for the support. As we approach our opening we will be posting photos of our various menu items so feel free to give us feedback. This batch is just three of our special made from scratch Greek Yoghurt smoothies, and our fruit salad. All made with love and fresh seasonal fruit, home squeezed juices and freshly ground spices.

Such fun to have besties as guinea pig guests for test driving our new outdoor kitchen and pizza oven at The Flying Fig. Still a bit more building work to do at the Voyager but we hope to open up reservations for dining and accommodation towards the end of February. 🥂🥂
