Head Chef vacancy

The King's Palate at The King Club is seeking a passionate, dedicated and creative, fully qualified Head Chef to manage and lead its team of chefs to produce unique and exquisite dishes. As Head Chef, you will become the face of the King's Palate, thus brilliant customer service skills are a must.

The following, among other responsibilities, will rest on your shoulders:
Management & supervision of staff - training, duty roster, leave, discipline, etc.;
Producing dishes of high quality, timeously;
Take part of the recruitment panel;
Kitchen maintenance - sanitation/hygiene, equipment, etc.;
Inventory management and stock taking;
Supply chain management;
Various menu planning & creation;
Planning & creation of new unique dishes;
Costing of all dishes & menus;
Quality control of every dish including plating;
Customer interaction & feedback;
Sales analysis;
Liaise with other departments and GM/MD;
Ensure all legal aspects are fulfilled and certificates are up to date.

Prospective candidates should have the following minimum requirements:
Grade 12;
5 years experience as Head Chef;
Relevant Culinary degrees;
Proven track record of excellence and creativity;
Brilliant customer service skills;
Computer literate;
Excellent communication skills;
Must be able to handle stress and be able to work long hours;
Financial literacy is a must.

The King Club is seeking an Floor supervisor that is elegant, self driven, honest, hardworking and tough to become part of The King Club family.

As a Floor Supervisor, you will be responsible for the total management of the entire business (FOH and BOH - restaurants, bars, event venues, lounge, beer garden, casino, etc.). This entails the supervision of the staff compliment (ensuring they follow all applicable procedures, that they are productive and work efficiently), liaising with clients, quality control of all products and services, taking disciplinary action where necessary, following company rules & regulations and adhering to all laws at all times.

It is of the utmost importance that the clients be treated as Kings and Queens, thus brilliant customer service is a prerequisite.
You should also be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while still streamlining operations. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position.
The King Club believes in staff development and it is required that you be available for all training sessions, internal and external courses.

Requirements
Minimum 2 years work experience as a Floor Supervisor/Manager in the hospitality industry;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
Professional attitude and appearance;
Experience with disciplinary codes;
Great written and verbal communication skills;
Must have good leadership ability;
Must be able to provide internal training to all staff members;
Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise;
Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks;
Brilliant customer service skills;
Must have a Matric certificate;
Must provide a recent police clearance;
Food and Beverage diploma/degree will be preferred;
Any additional certification will be a bonus.

General Housekeeping
Responsibilities:
• Cleaning and servicing guest rooms, bar, casino, restaurant, etc. to our highest standards.
• Replenishing room amenities and managing linen exchanges.
• Maintaining cleanliness in public areas and corridors.
• Reporting any maintenance issues or lost property immediately.

Minimum requirements:
• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a housekeeping role (Hospitality industry experience is a plus).
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard of hygiene.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Physical stamina to manage the demands of the role.

General Maintenance Assistant
Responsibilities:
• Garden and property maintenance and upkeep.
• Assisting with basic repairs: plumbing, electrical (bulbs/plugs), painting, and carpentry.
• Assisting with various other related tasks such as moving furniture, handling of stock, draping, etc.

Minimum requirements:
• Previous experience in gardening or landscaping
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
• Experience operating basic garden machinery (Lawnmowers, edge trimmers, etc.).
• A "handy" aptitude—willingness to learn and assist with basic building repairs.
• Reliable, punctual, and a team player.

Responsibilities:
• Greeting all royals in a VERY FRIENDLY manner
• Liaise with royals, staff members and management
• Answering the telephones and operating as switchboard operator
• Function as communication hub for entire King Club
• Drafting memos and various other documentation
• Following up on quotes and various other telephonic requests
• Taking telephonic orders and dealing with all take away orders
• Answering all social media messages (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc.)
• Receiving, sending, and following up on e-mails
