Our Story

Welcome to Workshop 55. A unique experience combining the very best of finely crafted drinks and locally and internationally influenced food served in a laid back setting.

Take the time to enjoy a selection of different dishes with one of our delicious infused gins.

From food to drinks we’ve chosen to stay away from the usual suspects and offer you something a little different, a little out of the ordinary.

Because of this we run this show a little differently.

Choose any 3 dishes from our menu for R245 per person or if you prefer order individual dishes for R90 per dish.

Our food is elegant, fresh and seasonal. We work with local suppliers to bring you dishes that reflect flavours from around the world. Our menu changes regularly to keep it seasonal.

We are proud to introduce 55 – our quirky lounge.

We wanted to expand your Workshop 55 experience and so 55 was born.

Adjacent to Workshop 55, which is themed along the lines of a Victorian 1900’s warehouse, we wanted to move to another era – something a whole lot more decadent. Think Miami 1930’s glamour, a touch whimsical – from the pink Christiaan Lacroix wallpaper to our resident parrot, reminisce of a luxury cruise ship salon. A space where we could truly showcase our range of premium brands in an elegant setting in which they could be enjoyed.

We are open from 4 pm, a perfect setting to enjoy afternoon drinks in the lounge or outside on the terrace. We invite our Workshop 55 diners to arrive early so as to enjoy a pre-dinner drink at 55, while Jazz and smooth Cuban sounds will sooth away the day. Sit back, relax and enjoy the finest we can offer.

A select cocktail menu, the best champagnes, whiskies and wines for the serious connoisseur have been sourced far and wide to bring you a unique collection we just know you will love.

Workshop 55 has become synonymous with delicious and interesting gin infusions so we have added a few rare finds and now boast the widest selection of gins around, as well as some high quality tonics to enhance the flavour of our gins such as Fentimans and Fever Tree.
