10-Year Celebration of De Joint Pub & Grill
De Joint Pub & Grill celebrates a decade of existence and cultural impact.
What began in Mafikeng, North West Province, at Mo Meat Chisanyama in 2014 soon evolved into a movement. Sundays became extra special playing HOUSE MUSIC from the early hours of the morning into the early hours of Monday. Upon recognising the deep love and appreciation for music among the people of Tikwana, Hoopstad in the Free State Province, the movement was later introduced there.
The core objective was to introduce and preserve the culture of House music in Tikwana, Hoopstad, with the sole purpose of uniting both the young and the old through good vibes. Most importantly, the movement aimed to create employment opportunities within the community through this culture, while promoting social cohesion and social responsibility at large.
Over the nine years of De Joint Pub & Grill’s operation, countless memories have been created. Friendships were formed, and sadly, some members of our family have passed on. We paid our respects, and they will forever remain in our hearts. Through all challenges, we remained resolute and soldiered on. Like many establishments, we were affected by the COVID-19 era, but through the unwavering support and loyalty of our community, we managed to return and remain operational.
We are deeply grateful to the Motaung Family for their continuous support and encouragement and to our community for standing by us since day one, when we officially opened our doors in September 2016. As we celebrate this milestone, few changes will be introduced at the establishment to set a new tone moving forward—one that allows us to celebrate many more years of bringing different generations together.
We therefore call upon everyone from all corners of the Free State Province, especially those who have been with us from the beginning, to come and celebrate this milestone with us. We promise nothing but good vibes, positive energy, and quality music, delivered by seasoned spinners dedicated to restoring order and reviving the true culture of House music.
As part of the 10-year celebration, we are proud to introduce HOUSE MUSIC SUNDAYS starting from the last Sunday of February 2026 dedicated solely to preserving and honouring the culture.
And the beat goes on, HOUSE MUSIC will remain ✊🏾
