THE WEEKEND IS ALMOST HERE

And Lizette’s has plans for every part of it.

Begin with our Gruyère and Fig Breakfast Sandwich for R89, share the smoky Bò Lá Lốt with peanut dipping sauce for R92, or settle in with our crisp Bánh Xèo and a glass of Ernst Gouws Chenin Blanc for R165.

Friday brings the CBC B**r Friday specials and a very good reason to welcome the weekend properly.

A LITTLE REMINDER OF WHAT IS WAITING AT LIZETTE’S THIS WEEK

Breakfast begins with our Gruyère and Fig Breakfast Sandwich. Toasted wholewheat, melted Gruyère, fig pâté, fried egg and fresh rocket for R89.

Then there is Bò Lá Lốt. Spiced ground beef wrapped in vine leaves, grilled over the coals and served with a peanut dipping sauce for R92.

And finally, our crisp Bánh Xèo filled with pork belly, prawn and mung bean. Break off a piece, wrap it in lettuce and herbs, dip it into the nước chấm and enjoy it with a glass of Ernst Gouws Chenin Blanc for R165.

Three very good reasons to pull up a chair this week.

Meet Bánh Xèo, our crisp Vietnamese savoury crêpe filled with pork belly, prawn and mung bean.

Break off a piece, wrap it in lettuce and fresh herbs, then dip it generously into the sweet and tangy nước chấm.

Bò Lá Lốt is a Vietnamese street food favourite made with beautifully spiced ground beef, traditionally wrapped in wild betel leaves and grilled over the coals.

As betel leaves are not readily available in South Africa, we have given ours a local twist using vine leaves.

Served with a peanut dipping sauce for R92.

Smoky, fragrant and made for dipping. Just try to stop at one.

A little extra time with two favourites.

Our Turkish Eggs are staying for another week, bringing plenty of creamy, gently spiced comfort to the breakfast table for R99.

And for those whose hearts belong to Chicken Khao Soi, there is good news for you too. Silky yellow curry coconut broth, Thai egg noodles and that beautiful crown of crispy noodles, served with a glass of Seul Amour Sauvignon Blanc by Idun Wines for R189.
