Major Fraser’s | Proudly Recognised Among South Africa’s Top 100 Restaurants

We are delighted to announce that we have been recognised among South Africa’s Top 100 Restaurants – a prestigious accolade that celebrates excellence, passion, and dedication within the hospitality industry.

In reflecting on this achievement, Wendy Alberts, founder of SA’s Top Restaurant Awards, shared these inspiring words:

“Your restaurants are more than just places to eat – they are gateways to connection. They are where first dates begin, anniversaries are celebrated, business deals are made, and families come together. They are places where memories are created and communities are built.”

Wendy reminded recipients that restaurants play a far greater role than simply serving food. They become gathering places, sources of comfort, centres of celebration, and pillars within their communities.

“Winning an award such as SA’s Top Restaurant Award is a testament to your hard work, passion, and dedication to excellence. It is recognition of the countless hours, challenges overcome, and experiences created for your guests.”

She encouraged award recipients to view the recognition not only as an achievement, but as a reflection of the lives they have touched, the teams they have built, and the communities they continue to nurture.

As Wendy so aptly concluded, “May this recognition be a reminder of your incredible achievement and inspire you to keep pushing boundaries, innovating, and sharing your passion with the world.”

We are honoured to be included among South Africa’s Top 100 Restaurants and extend our sincere thanks to our loyal customers, dedicated team, and supportive community who have made this recognition possible.

We love this!!

Big rugby, bigger gees 🍻

The Graeme College Wildeklawer Rugby Festival has arrived in Makhanda, and let’s be honest… watching great rugby is thirsty work.

Lucky for you, Major Fraser’s has the cold ones ready and waiting. Whether you’re celebrating a win, dissecting the ref’s decisions, or just here for the vibe — we’ve got your spot.

Good rugby. Great company. Even better beer.

Come through to Major Fraser’s — we’ll keep it cold for you 😉

Hey Makhanda… sweet treat and coffee goals, sorted 😌

Our bakers are up early doing what they love — mixing, folding, and creating the kind of treats that don’t stand a chance once they hit the counter. And behind the machine? Baristas who take their craft seriously (but not themselves), pouring cups that just feel right.

Add in warm welcomes, a little laughter, and that unmistakable Barista vibe… and suddenly it’s not just a coffee stop, it’s your favourite part of the day.

Pop in, we’ve saved you a seat ☕️🤎
