Legend has it that old Rasta on the Roof found this shipwreck in the Old Harbour and turned it into a pub and restaurant called ‘The Thirsty Oyster Tavern’, where, to quote him, ‘home is where the anchor drops’. So why not drop anchor here for a while, crack open that careworn shell and slip into our relaxed and friendly ambiance – whether it be in the cool breezes of summer or by the warm, cosy fires in winter – we have 3 fireplaces to ensure you stay nice and warm. We’re pretty sheltered, tucked in as we are, between the Naval College and the National Sea Rescue facility. You’ll still find Rasta here. He’s up on the roof, guarding the harbour and has had more photos taken of him in recent months than the anchor on the mountain! Whatever the weather – you are sure to experience the best buzz in town here – from 10h00 to 02h00

We are open for business, albeit under challenging conditions. We had to close early last night, apologies to the rugby fans, the win was great though!!
Vandalism on the harbour's electricity supply has caused us to experience an electric supply crisis. Our generator not even kicking, tripping somewhere.
Eskom is on site, hope for restored power soon soon
We are open regardless, serving drinks and food and the band will play 🎶
