How we came about our name "Gîte": Interestingly, we actually referred to a converted barn on our farm as ‘The Gîte’ for years and then when we started thinking of a name for our newly built barn-style suites a family member proposed that Gîte is the perfect name.

Here's a fun fact: The name Gîte (French) means a specific type of holiday accommodation. Gîtes are generally old farm workers’ cottages or converted outbuildings and barns within proximity of the owner’s principal residence.
