For the first time since 2007, Hairspray returns to the professional South African stage… and Scenario Productions is looking for bold, brilliant musical theatre performers to bring Baltimore to life.

Die Siel van Eugène Marais is ’n poëtiese reis deur die lewe van die digter, wetenskaplike, joernalis en “Wonder Dokter”. Deur woord, musiek en sy eie gedigte word Marais se soeke na liefde, waarheid en menswees blootgelê — van sy briljante vroeë jare tot sy gebroke laaste oomblikke onder die doringboom.

Gebaseer op ware gebeure, maar deurweef met simboliek, morfienvisioene en poëtiese fragmente, ondersoek die produksie sy stryd tussen lig en donker, sy obsessie met die natuur en die spookbeelde wat hom verteer het. Met drama, klanklandskappe, musiek en visuele simboliek — insluitend die figuur van
Skoppensboer — word ’n hipnotiese en emosioneel gelaaide atmosfeer geskep.

Die ikoniese gedig Winternag vorm die spil waarom die stuk draai, verweef met Marais se innerlike stryd.
