Rust is a four letter word.

And not the only four letter word - love, hard work, time & care - are all part of Rust. We needed all of them to start it and they’re a part of everything we do. Passion isn’t a four letter word but that’s definitely what we have and would like to share with you.

The idea of Rust came from reusing and creating something new from what's already there. We value the old and the classic (cars & whisky) and have done our best to add a twist so we can offer you a unique and welcoming environment that’s perfect for chilling out with friends, creating fresh sounds at our weekly jam sessions or as the perfect venue for your after party. The Coffee We created our unique House Blend in conjunction with Rock'n'Roller Coffee to bring you the best coffee in Observatory, maybe even in Cape Town. Every cup is served from freshly ground beans, just as you like it. Stay a while and unwind as you relax into our super comfy sofas or grab a cup on the go to start your day. The Beer We’ve partnered specifically with local breweries to bring you the tastiest, most refreshing and adventurous selection of Craft Beers. We curate our selection carefully so that we can bring you new experiences. Why not try our “Taste Them All” challenge and add your name to our Wall Of Fame. The Top Shelf Our Wines and Spirits are also sourced locally - we believe the best is to be had at home so we can bring you; 100% Karoo Agave from Leonista, Wines from the Cape, locally distilled Gin and speciality Tonics. Our fine range of Scotch Whisky comes from Scotland because that's the home of a great Scotch. The Food Breakfast, lunch and dinner - all cooked with added love. Hearty is best and we want to make sure you’re satisfied, happy and full. We use fresh local ingredients and offer a range of delicious dishes inspired by the traditional foods of South Africa and some staple favourites. From a full cooked breakfast to our sandwich specials and delicious vegetarian options, we’ve got something for everyone. Who We Are We're three guys who came together to bring an idea to life. It was a giant leap of faith and we took it so that we could start something from scratch. There was a lot of learning, some of it extremely fast, and we’re constantly working on everything we offer to make sure we bring you the best. We’re active in the Obz community and are always interested in working with local businesses or charitable organisations to help our community thrive.
