We recently received the most adorable knitted teddy bears, and we knew exactly how to put them to good use. We headed to our Changemaker Garden at Westlake Primary School for a fun-filled Phonics Scavenger Hunt!

Watching our little learners search, sound out, and celebrate each find was an absolute joy. It's amazing how much learning can happen outside the classroom!

Another wonderful harvest from our Changemaker Garden at Westlake Primary School. We're so proud to share the fruits (and veggies!) of our labor with the school's staff: broccoli and celery for Aunty Lisa, and our first, most spectacular broccoli for Alex & Ryno. Every year we come together, to connect, catch up and make a difference in the lives of young learners. The first week of school holidays is over! If you think that means teachers get a three-week break, think again. It's just a quick recharge before spending the next two weeks planning next term's curriculum.

For Xchange Connexion, we're busy prepping the next level of our Changemaker Pathways for Term 3 at Westlake Primary School. To get ready, our Grade 7 prefects wrapped up their last week of term with leadership training, preparing them to step up as school leaders sponsored by Prescient Foundation.

Term 3 will see our prefects taking on more duties and we are looking forward to sharing their journeys with you!

Today was such a wonderfully rewarding day!

After struggling at school, one of our little learners is now grasping his phonics. This progress has been made possible thanks to 1 on 1 time and an incredible partnership between his teachers and family and the Changemaker Pathway team which has been in play since mid-term 1.

It was such a special moment when he sat and built the group 1 phonics with play-dough AND sounded each one out. He's using his Grey Changemaker manual to learn all 44 phonics. We're hoping that by the end of Term 3 he'll be able to build words and basic sentences.

That’s why Xchange Connexion launched The Changemaker Project for Primary Schools.

At Westlake Primary School , we are helping build:

✅ School pride and culture
✅ Practical classroom systems that help teachers teach

We believe every child deserves a safe, structured, hopeful place to learn.
