🇿🇦🌍🕊️ Today, we the legendary photographer, activist, and cultural giant, Rashid Lombard, who passed away on this day.

As the South African Arts Creatives Network (SAACN), we honour his extraordinary contribution to our nation’s heritage. Rashid used his camera lens as a powerful tool for justice during the anti-apartheid struggle, capturing pivotal moments of our liberation movement.

He went on to shape our cultural landscape forever as the visionary founder of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival.

His imagery documented our resilience, and his passion gave South African music a global stage.Thank you for the vision, the music, and the memories. Rest in Power, Rashid. 📸🎷
