Two years ago, we were falsely accused of racism and discriminatory policies at our bar. Confident in both the truth and the justice system, we chose to pursue legal action rather than engage with unverified claims amplified online and in the media.

The alleged racist incident occurred on 1 December 2022, involving Thabiso Danca, who was asked by our bouncer to verify his age. Unable to provide ID, he was asked if someone inside could verify it. Once his friend Jordan did so, they were allowed entry.

The following day, Christopher Logan, who was not present during the incident, arrived with friends, aggressively confronting staff while his companions filmed the altercation.

We, the owners, did not witness the incident and therefore conducted an internal disciplinary hearing and commissioned an independent investigation with our bouncer, which included polygraph tests. These confirmed our bouncer’s innocence.

On November 13, 2024, the High Court ruled in our favour, dismissing Logan’s baseless claims and confirming his culpability. His deadline to appeal the ruling has now passed.

The smear campaign caused immense damage—not only to our business but also to our staff and their families. We endured threats, harassment, and even extortion attempts. Media outlets irresponsibly amplified false narratives, ignoring our requests for corrections and betraying journalistic integrity.

While we knew the accusations were fabricated, we have maintained our silence throughout, not seeking to inflame social-media-orchestrated violent vitriol any further, or to dignify outright fabrications with a response.

We are now considering pursuing legal action against media outlets and other individuals responsible for spreading these lies, including Logan’s associate who not only edited the footage but also posted the initial videos online with the intent to cause harm.

To our loyal customers, supporters, and those who saw through the deception—thank you! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your belief in us means everything. To those who remained silent or were intimidated by online threats, we understand and hold no resentment.

We decided to take this route, not to further divide or cause harm in our society but for the truth to be know and for justice to prevail.

Our focus is on rebuilding trust and relationships.
The High Court judgment is attached for anyone seeking the truth.
