"Anything can happen in a room..."
When the opportunity to transform the back room in a burger joint came to us, the Westport Flea Market said, “Make it whatever you want.” I chose “Buffalo” because it was my high school’s mascot. But I didn’t know where to go from there. Buffalo Club? Buffalo Theatre? Buffalo Stage? Mackenzie suggested, “What about ‘Room?’ The Buffalo Room? Anything can happen in a room.”
What we sought to create was a blank space for you to transform and inhabit to bring your audiences and our community together. And what a community we’ve been–and continue to be.
Last November, our landlords found a new tenant. They graciously held space for us these past two years of pandemic hibernation and even offered to let us share the space moving forward once we were ready to come back. We thank them so much for their patience during this difficult time. We wish them and their new tenant much joy and of course tons of burgers and beers sold!
As gracious as the offer was, Mackenzie and I decided to release the space. It’s an exciting new season in our lives with adventures and professional opportunities we can’t wait to tell you about (stay tuned!).
This is not goodbye, it’s “see you later,” as we’ll certainly be continuing Stuffed Buffalo Productions parodies-for-charity and our other Buffalo Room concepts on theatre and music stages around town.
Most importantly, we need to share our gratitude: we CANNOT THANK ENOUGH our INCREDIBLE HERD of servers, event managers, and technicians; producers, clients, and artists; and audiences and patrons over the past seven years. We learned and grew so much because of you and we hope that you did too.
You’ll see The Buffalo Room again. Because The Room is Us, the community we built together, and we remain. Anything can happen in a room…
With love and gratitude,
Vi & Mackenzie & The Herd
