On May 31 late night, AMP by This Town Needs will be housed by local veteran party organizer Triple Happiness Club (THC) for its brand new The Private Session Vol.1.
THC is the co-founder of Dragontown Trap House, Night of the Living Disco Heads and many more fashionable parties in Hong Kong. This time around, THC is bringing DJs Lao (Mexico City), Nick Hook (NYC) and Fotan Laiki (HK) to stage. While the first two are well-known in for their collabs with Nike, Smirnoff (global) and 21 Savage, the latter also took Chinese-speaking regions by surprise with her quick rise to fame.
Ticket holders of Buddhistson Live in Hong Kong at TTN earlier on the same night can pay additional HKD $100 for entry. See y’all at the party!

THC曾創立「龍寨Trap House」、「Night Of The Living Disco Heads」等超燥音樂活動系列，這次分別請到Lao（Mexico City）、Nick Hook（NYC）和火炭麗琪（HK）三位DJ演出。前兩者在電子音樂界享負盛名，曾為rapper 21 Savage、Gaika及眾多品牌製作，後者則是席捲華語Hip Hop界的新生代表。

Producer and DJ since 2001, Lao works with recontextualized classic sounds that are interwoven with local sounds to create avant-garde dance pieces that rethink his identity. He is a member of the NAAFI label, and head of his own label Extasis Records. He was part of the 2014 Red Bull Music Academy generation in Tokyo. He has participated in campaigns for Native Instruments (global), Corona, Smirnoff (global) and Nike among others. He has produced for Gaika, Mc Bin Laden, Tomasa Del Real, Santa Bandida, Fuete Billete, FNTXY, Yoga Fire, Linn Da Quebrada, Nick Hook, Denise Gutierrez, Missil, Speak. In 2018 he did remixes for Fever Ray and Interpol, he also won the NTS Radio x Sonos International Knockout Cup and presented a hybrid live show at MUTEK.MX.

Nick Hook is NYC’s waviest resident: an in-demand collaborator, producer extraordinaire, and all around provider of vibes who’s lent his touch to projects from Run The Jewels, Azalea Banks, Hudson Mohawke, and countless others, all while building a creative community around his Space Pit studio in Greenpoint. Now the redheaded kingpin steps forward with his Relationships LP on Fool’s Gold, a full album of collaborations that are unconventional, unexpected and all-the-way live (literally: each song was recorded in-person with Nick behind the boards, a refreshing move in the email verse era).
“Head” with 21 Savage and Bulletproof Dolphin is the first tease of what Relationships has in store. It’s a psychedelic, Parental Advisory sticker-ed mix of wild-ass synth lines, Detroit ghettotech drums, and double-cup freestyling, all mashed together in thespacepit.

Fotan Laiki, a.k.a. Wong Laiki, was 100% born and raised in the shattered parts of Hong Kong and finally sought her peaceful retreat in Fo Tan. Full-time Fiji Wifey, part-time performer, rapper & DJ, Laiki picked up playing CDJ while waiting for her brownies to be baked. She’s never too serious — it doesn't work for her — and she needs her chill to experiment with music, multimedia, and freestyle all the way.
