Four years ago, Arcane Alchemist began with a simple dream: to create magical mead and share it with people who love good stories, great drinks, and a little bit of fantasy.
This month marks four years since that journey began.
Whether you've ordered a bottle online, visited us at a market, shared a drink around the campfire at a festival, liked a post, or simply followed along from afar... thank you. Every order, every conversation, every recommendation, and every word of encouragement has helped bring us to this moment. I genuinely couldn't have done it without you.
And now... I can finally share the news I've been keeping secret for what feels like forever.
We're opening a mead tavern.
Hearth & Honey Tavern will become the permanent home of Arcane Alchemist in my hometown, Havant. A place where fantasy comes to life, where friends gather around a warm hearth, and where every drink has a story to tell.
Alongside the full range of traditional meads, we'll be serving our brand-new session meads, handcrafted ciders, and an ever-changing selection of drinks made right here by us. We'll also be pouring carefully chosen craft beers, magical cocktails, delicious low & no alcohol options, and artisanal teas, creating a tavern that's welcoming to everyone.
This is, without question, the biggest adventure I've ever embarked on.
It's also far too big to do alone.
I have the privilege of having Beky Libby joining me on this journey. Beky's passion for hospitality, incredible artistry (such as Aurora's Kiss label), and people skills will be vital for making Hearth and Honey a success.
For now, I'd love for you to be part of this next chapter. Please give Hearth & Honey a follow and sign up to the mailing list. We'll be sharing behind-the-scenes progress, sneak peeks, exclusive updates, invitations to our pre-launch celebrations, and plenty more as we transform an empty building into the tavern we've all dreamed about.
If you'd like to help us take this next step, we're also launching a special Kickstarter-style sale on the website. For the next two weeks, you can enjoy 10% off all mead. Every bottle purchased helps us invest in bringing Hearth & Honey to life, and your support means more than I can ever put into words.
Finally, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who's stood beside me over these last four years. To everyone who's helped at markets and festivals: Mo, Sophie, Adam, Steph, Jayce, Will, Sara, Auntie Kush, Beky, T, Phil, and my Mum, thank you for giving up your weekends, believing in this dream, and helping make Arcane Alchemist what it is today.
Thank you to our wonderful stockists for championing our mead, and to Havant Borough Council for helping turn this vision into reality through the regeneration scheme.
Four years ago, Arcane Alchemist was just an idea. Today, we're building a home for it. And this is only the beginning.
Speak soon, dear reader. ❤️
