The Welbeck Hotel & Restaurant Announces Closure After 48 Years of Family Ownership

It is with great sadness that we announce the planned closure of the Welbeck Hotel & Restaurant, with **all operations ceasing on Monday, 23rd November 2026.**

Having been proudly family-owned and operated since 1978, this has been an incredibly difficult and emotional decision, brought about by a combination of family health circumstances and the increasingly challenging business climate.

Despite our continued efforts to secure a buyer, we have reached a point where continuing to operate the business is no longer sustainable.

Our employees have been informed of the situation, and we are currently undertaking the appropriate consultation process regarding potential redundancies. Our staff have been incredibly gracious and understanding during what is undoubtedly an unsettling time, and we are extremely grateful for their cooperation, professionalism and continued support.

Information for Guests

We would like to reassure guests that **all existing bookings up to 23rd November 2026 will be honoured. With our last night of hosting guests overnight 22nd November**

Guests with reservations beyond this date will be contacted individually in due course, and any deposits paid will be refunded in full.

We urge those with vouchers to use them whilst we are still operating.

We kindly ask for patience and understanding while we work through the necessary arrangements and contact those affected.

Information for Suppliers

We would also like to reassure our valued suppliers that all outstanding balances will be settled in full before the business is finalised.

We are extremely grateful for the relationships we have built with our suppliers over the years and for their continued support.

The Welbeck remains available for sale, and we sincerely hope that a buyer can be found to secure the future of the property.

Over the past 48 years, the Welbeck has welcomed countless guests, celebrated special occasions and built lasting relationships with visitors and the local community alike. It has been more than just a business to our family, and we are immensely proud of everything it has represented.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated staff, loyal customers, suppliers and the wider Manx community for their support, kindness and loyalty throughout the years.

We thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we navigate this incredibly difficult period.
