La Vie en rose
Named after the eclectic Parisian quarter that saw the birth of Edith Piaf and many other famed French artists, Belleville Restaurant & Lounge is a meeting place for people from all walks of life. A five minutes walk from the Japanese Bridge and Hoian old quarter, at this open and airy brasserie, people come together to enjoy music, contemporary art, quality French and Vietnamese food and drinks. You can choose from traditional Vietnamese dishes like fried spring rolls with selected ingredients or Cao Lau, Com Ga - specialities of Hoi An, or a French cheese burger, chicken cordon bleu in parmesan cream sauce or French cold cuts, a cheese platter and for dessert, a mousse chocolate, creme brule.
Belleville’s ground floor opens into a terrace and garden that overlook the bustling Nguyen Hoang Street of Night Market fame. From 7-10:00pm every night, there’s live music and open mic sessions where resident musicians entertain with a mix of contemporary acoustic covers, rock and country classics, and even the occasional Latin number. The stage is set with microphones, guitars and a cajón and all comers are welcome.
In contrast, the second floor has seen the creation of a more intimate area. The private dining room is decorated with some of the art works of Lionel, a French contemporary artist, who is also, together with his Vietnamese wife An, the owner of the place.
