Let's help get those fences built..
We need you right now. Not next week. Not after the next emergency. Right now.
Something has happened since we started fundraising for our fencing project: donations have almost stopped.
We don’t understand it.
Maybe fencing isn’t emotional. It isn’t a sick puppy in an ICU. It isn’t a dramatic rescue with a happy ending.
But fencing is what keeps those puppies, cats, dogs and ducks alive once we’ve saved them.
And right now, our shelter is heading into typhoon season held together in places by zip ties, patches and duct tape.
Our fencing contractor is supposed to arrive Sunday to begin work on the duck enclosure, weather permitting so the welding can be done. He’ll also assess the deteriorating cat enclosure and the fencing needed for the neighboring land we’ve rented to give our animals more safe space.
And we genuinely don’t know how we’re going to pay him.
Worse, donations have fallen so dramatically that this is no longer just about fencing.
We have been buying food in tiny, frequent orders because that is all we can afford. There have been days when we have barely had enough food on hand for the next feeding shift.
That is how serious this has become.
We have 42 rescued animals depending on us every single day. They don’t know donations are down. They don’t know construction is expensive. They don’t know a typhoon could tear through weakened fencing.
They just know this is home.
And somehow, after every crisis, we are still here.
We look around this shelter and see animals who were abandoned, abused, sick, injured or unwanted. Animals whose lives are permanently different because someone cared enough to help us save them.
That is why we refuse to give up.
But determination does not buy food.
Hope does not pay a welder.
Love does not replace a rusted fence.
We need money. Now.
If you have been waiting for an emergency to donate, this is it.
Please help us get through Sunday’s construction, keep food in the shelter, repair these enclosures before the first major typhoon hits, and keep this place standing for the animals who have nowhere else to go.
Even $10, $20 or $50 matters enormously when enough people decide that keeping these animals safe matters.
Please donate today. Please share this today.
We have survived so much.
Help us survive this too. ❤️
