The Red Lantern Cocktail Bar
Come as a Stranger – leave as a Friend
Pre-COVID The Red lantern Street Bar was a favourite watering-hole for locals and tourists alike. This tiny pop-up venue was the creation of a Dung, a personable young man who had mastered the art of mixing wonderful cocktails combined with a friendly, welcoming manner. About 9pm, 10 or 20 people, from various countries, would g
ather around the street stall on tiny seats, chatting away, solving the problems of the world, and discovering that people everywhere have so much in common. When it was time to wander off to their homestays, people, who only a few hours before had never met, said their goodbyes and there’d be handshakes, hugs and kisses all round. The magic of the Red Lantern Street Bar always worked. It’s now Post-COVID and Dung and Brad - a customer from the ‘Good Old Days’’ have opened up a permanent venue The Red Lantern Cocktail Bar further down the street at 153 Nguyen Phan Vinh. The philosophy is the same: Great cocktails, friendly service, comfortable atmosphere and music from the glory days of swing, jazz and blues – if you like heavy metal, rock or similar types of noise The Red Lantern is definitely not for you. Some establishments claim to have the best cocktails, others the cheapest (although many of our customers may dispute both claims). We do boast that ours are the happiest. Aarons famous An Bangers (Green Chilli or Toulouse) will be on the Barbie for that late night snack and our Table for Ten will offer up Pasta bolognaise or putanesca, with other one-pot wonders, twice a week. New to An Bang are our discount/loyalty coupons which can offer up to 15% off all items. The Red Lantern Cocktail Bar is rapidly becoming the Go-To spot in An Bang village. Give us a try.
