Fall event season is officially here.

We found 8 brewery, winery and craft-beverage events worth putting on your radar around Northeast Ohio this weekend.

📍 Maze Craze — New Springfield

Take a tasting map into the corn maze and hunt down stations pouring beer, cider and wine from Birdfish, Noble Creature, Modern Methods, Aeonian, Biker Brewhouse, Sundog Ciderhouse, Maze Craze Winery and more.

Nine samples, fire pits, food and live music make this one of the weekend’s strongest destination events.

🇩🇪 SEPT. 11–13 — GERMAN FAMILY SOCIETY OKTOBERFEST | BRIMFIELD

One of the region’s most traditional celebrations returns with German food, imported, domestic and local beer, live music, dancing and family activities. Admission is $5 cash; kids 12 and under are free.

German beer by the liter, schnitzel, sausage, spaetzle, pretzels, live German music, steinholding, Hammerschlagen, family activities and a best-dressed contest.

This is a full-on brewery Oktoberfest, not just an Oktoberfest beer release.

Another maze. Completely different corner of Northeast Ohio.

Cleveland Oktoberfest returns for its second and final weekend, including the local Best Oktoberfest Microbrew Competition and Saturday’s People’s Choice voting.

Mapleside’s fall wine-and-beer experience starts this weekend.

Take a hayride through the orchard, then make your way through a wine-themed corn maze with five wine or craft-beer tasting stops and food pairings along the route.

📅 Saturday | 11 AM

Run, walk or jog a 5K-ish route through Ohio City, then finish back at Market Garden with a locally brewed beer.

A portion of proceeds supports a local nonprofit.

Our # 1 beer doesn’t come from the region’s largest brewery. Neither does # 3 or 4.

That’s exactly why we wanted to do this.

Sometimes the best beer isn’t the beer with the biggest distribution footprint or the most recognizable label.

Sometimes you have to go looking for it.

****Note: Hofbräuhaus Cleveland’s Festbier was evaluated with a comparatively small sample size (the second-smallest dataset of all beers considered, with only New Berlin being smaller). While its publicly available ratings were strong, the limited volume of data was the primary factor that kept it just outside our Top 20.

Beers from 2026 new breweries like Birdtown Brewing, Mosaic Brewing Company, and New Purpose Brew Works + Kitchen have not been tasted yet — we look forward to trying them soon and seeing where they rank in 2027!
