To Our Patrons, Friends and Entertainment Community,
Utopia Video Niteclub opened it's doors in October 2005, to fill a gap we saw in the LGBTQ2 community of Youngstown, Ohio and surrounding region. Through the years we have welcomed thousands of patrons from our community, with the goal of providing a unique, fun, safe, welcoming and one-of-a-kind venue.
Rebounding from the pandemic was a very tough feat, which we ultimately decided could not be overcome. New chapters are turned, old chapters are closed, and the memories that we all shared together, will be cheerished for decades to come by so many of our patrons.
Today, we announce that Utopia's "last call" has arrived, and we've sold the business and venue. There are ups and downs in any business cycle. But the steadfast committment of the LGBTQ2 community in supporting Utopia for over 16 years, will stand the test of time, as generations of our community reminisce and recall all the good times we all had together.
We want to make a special notation, thanking the scores of entertainers who have graced the stage of Utopia. The committment to your craft, has made thousands of people smile, laugh, cry and build life-lasting friendships in our community. Thank you for your dedication over the years in supporting our efforts to create an inclusive and welcoming entertainment venue.
All good things must come to an end. Our story is over, but the story of other venues is either being restarted, or continued onward. Please support your local LGBTQ2 establishments. While social media has bridged us all in the last decade, nothing will replace the value of building friendships in person and the value it brings.
