Somewhere would thank the Griffon Brewery for helping save my land, tradition and heritage.. Pat would like to thank Ed and Ken for their friendship and detail to Legacy of this Day. The Day that the Irish Celebrate St . Patrick is March 17th ...
We here do understand that it is easier to draw people on a weekend Friday or Saturday out to party for St. Patrick's Day and do NOT think there is anything wrong with that..and yes we had a few come in and Celebrate.. But for me and my tradition the 17th is the only day..
This is why for me I do it on the Day to honor My Heritage ...
My father Bernie Stack and four friends started a small chapter of A.O.H. Ancient Order of Hibernian's in Niagara Falls in the early 70's at St Charles church on 56th .. The First and second of their St Patrick's Day parties started there. I worked them - Dad played accordion and had a band brought in.. The party grew on that date.. The third year we moved to the "Niagara Falls Armory " for the legendary parties.. My fathers band played them either with "The Blarney Bunch or with Steve Dillon , Dan Bird and Ernie Palmer.. several other musicians throughout those years.. SO YEAH pretty powerful players in the 70's and 80's. They out grew the Armory....
And yes it was always on the Day !!!
I joined his band 20 years ago and loved playing with him.. His last gig was my favorite one. SOMEWHERE's first 2012 - Dad - Jay O'leary his best friend, Me Ernie Palmer -Steve Dillon - with the help of Randy California on drums and several musicians jumping in including Sean Thurman and Cliff Meteer....
Thank you Griffon for adding another page to my Family Traditions and help bring back some of what got you started at the pub.. May our friendship never end and our enemies become friends...
