Tourism in Action
The BMW Club of Maine welcomed members of the White Mountain Chapter from New Hampshire for a scenic drive through southern Maine, with 25 enthusiasts and 15 vehicles enjoying some of the best our state has to offer.

Our Pine Tree Chapter route included Old Orchard Beach, Cape Porpoise, and the Maine Classic Car Museum, while also highlighting attractions such as the Seashore Trolley Museum and several other destinations that make this region so special.

Beyond sharing a passion for great automobiles, these events encourage visitors to explore Maine, discover new places, dine locally, visit attractions, and often return for future trips with family and friends.

The highlight for me was hearing several of our New Hampshire guests say, "We'll be back." Those four words remind us that introducing people to authentic Maine experiences today often inspires future visits tomorrow.

The DownEast Region Porsche Club stopped by today on their way to Rockland, we put together a wonderful array of attractions, and visits. 26 people stopped by. The Yarmouth State Visitor Information Center is a wonderful location to meet and start your Maine experience.

The Best Things in Life Are Free… Like Fishing
School’s almost out, the sun’s sticking around a little longer, and Free Fishing Weekend is the perfect excuse to head outside and cast a line. On May 30–31, residents and nonresidents can fish Maine waters license-free all weekend long.

Whether you’re introducing a kid to their first fish, heading to your favorite fishing spot with friends, or just looking for an excuse to spend a little more time outside, this is your chance to get out on the water—no license required.

No fancy setup needed. Just grab a rod, pack some snacks, and find a spot along the shore, on the dock, or out in the boat. Early mornings, sunny afternoons, one more cast before dinner—it all counts.

A quick reminder: while fishing licenses are not required for the weekend, all other fishing laws and regulations still apply. Before you head out, be sure to check the regulations for the body of water you plan to fish—size and bag limits, and any special rules are still in effect.

So make a plan, bring some bug spray, and enjoy one of Maine’s iconic summer pastimes. You never know what might bite—but a good day outside is always a keeper.

What a wonderful morning with our guests from Minnesota. Visitors are friends we have not met yet. Besides exploring our lovely State they enjoyed some UK goodies and Bridgham and Cook in Freeport. The smiles only tell half the story, what wonderful people. Come back and visit!!
