Red Hat Society of Wytheville, Virginia The Red Hat Society’s primary purpose is social interaction and bonding among women. Each chapter has a Queen and everyone else are supporting members.

Members 50 and over are called “Red Hatters” and wear red hats and purple attire to all functions. A woman under age 50 may also become a member, but she wears a pink hat and lavender attire until reaching her 50th birthday. During your birthday month, you may reverse your colors and wear a purple or lavender hat with red or pink attire. Both Red and Pink Hatters often wear very elaborately decora

ted hats and attention-getting fashion accessories, such as feather boas and lots of bling! The Red Hat Society of Wytheville was established in the Spring of 2013 and has 37 members so far. We meet each month for dinner and bingo. We also attend Red Hat Conventions, go on trips, attend plays, etc. If you wish to join, please Janice Umberger (276)228-3313. As most of you know, our co-queen Faith Niday is now in the arms of Jesus. She passed Saturday morning at 5:13 AM. She will be missed by so many, she was such a loving & giving person. Her bright smile & cheerful attitude brought rays of sunshine to all who had the pleasure to meet her. Knowing she is with our Lord will help us deal with our loss. Love & prayers to all of Faith’s family, especially her sister, Janice Umberger, our remaining co-queen. Someone will post an update when we have additional information. Love to all!
