Scotch doubles for Atlantic City
The Green Room is still closed for renovations scotch doubles will have to be a traveling division. Teams will pick a bar to play out of. The session will be an 8 week session with 2 matches played per week and playoffs at the end. Fees are $20 per player per week ($40 per team). I will not be driving around everywhere to collect $. Teams can prepay the session (not including playoffs) on venmo or cashapp at $160 per player or $320 per team or prepay their $20 per player or $40 per team before their match. If a team falls 2 weeks behind in payment they will be removed from the schedule. I will put both matches against the same team every week so everyone is not wasting gas. This is for teams to qualify for Atlantic City scotch doubles. The schedule will be made and teams will have that week to schedule and play their matches. There will be a group thread with all players so everyone will have phone numbers to contact.
Rules are: to start a team’s combined handicap cannot exceed 10. Once a team is established it does not matter if players handicaps go up they are still allowed to play with their partner. Teams are considered one player so there are no time outs!! Teams can talk the entire time they are shooting but must stay in the 45 second shot clock. The team that wins the rack must keep alternating into the next rack whereas the team that lost the rack can pick anyone to shoot first and alternate from there.
Scoring is in the app and Playoffs do cost $ to play in if a team makes it to playoffs. Last session with 8 teams the payout was $1000 for 1st place, $500 for 2nd and both had their $250 entry fees paid. I’d like to get at least 8 teams again this session. No banquet at the end of the session but team pictures can be taken and plaques made for 1st and 2nd also. Let Laurie know if you plan on putting in a team so I can get your team into the computer and create a schedule. This session must start no later than June 30th in order to fit in all matches. Good luck everyone!
