Tomorrow- Monday April 4 begins our OMA Chandler Challenge.
Our OMA office is participating in the campus wide Chandler's Challenge. Chandler's Challenge is the annual tournament-styled fundraising competition.
Our goal is to:
Raise money for the office, win fun prizes, and have fun. Your role, should you choose to support us, is to: Please consider using Your Personal contacts, social media, workplace, etc. to encourage supporters to donate to Chandler's Challenge for TEAM OMA on (tomorrow) APRIL 4th and 5th. Indigenous Women, Colonialism, and Migration with Dra. Rigoberta Menchú Tum, 1992 Nobel Peace Prize Winner & Luis Argueta, Guatemalan Filmmaker

Dr. Rigoberta Menchú Tum is a Maya K'iche' Guatemalan human rights activist, and Nobel Peace Prize (1992) laureate winner. She is the leading advocate of indigenous people’s rights and ethno-cultural reconciliation.
Luis Argueta is a Guatemalan-American film director and producer whose work has been telling transnational immigrant stories since 1977. His film series on immigration [abUSed: The Postville Raid, ABRAZOS and The U Turn] brings into sharp focus the true human face of immigrants, their resilience and the vision of communities, which recognize the contributions immigrants make to the American society.

As TWA wraps up the year please join us for our closing event the Multicultural Show Watch Party in the celebration of diversity on campus. The show will include a fashion show, music, art, and different cultural performances. Event will take place both on zoom and on the lawn of Science and Tech. Hope to see you there! MODELS NEEDED‼️: As part of TWA’s annual Multicultural Show, we will be conducting a fashion show, the theme of which is, “Past, Present, Future: Recognizing the Greats”. The idea behind the theme is to recognise the people that pushed for equality and opened opportunities for many. The outfits will be inspired by these historical figures. This Friday, February 26, TWA invites you to attend our open mic night, “Ain’t I woman? Ain’t I man?” in celebration of black history month. It will be an evening of poetry, black history, black love, the black struggle and the African diaspora. We will have many performances from poets and musicians, a short film on why Black Lives Matter, as well as the opportunity for those who wish to share a piece with the audience, during the open mic section. TWA invites you to our Black History Month Film Screening on Thursday, February 18 at 6pm. We will be showing the 2017 documentary ‘Whose Streets?’. This film details the Ferguson uprising that occurred in 2014, ignited by the fatal, police shooting of 18 year old, Michel Brown. This captivating and powerful film, offers us the perspective of the people at center of the movement who lived through this awful tragedy.
