We're a microbrewery and taproom that opened September 2016 in Woodridge, a western suburb of Chicago. A skeleton key is a single key that can open many different doors—which is what we aspire to be. Our taproom is one such door, through which you can find delicious beer, camaraderie and community. Our classes are another, through which you can develop an even deeper appreciation for craft beer an

d get into the nitty-gritty of how to make it. And our incubator is the third door, through which a several other breweries have made their own dream of opening a brewery a reality.

As we all settle into our holiday weekend, it is VERY important to keep yourself hydrated when you're enjoying what's finally an acceptable day to sit outside as our Summer slowly creeps to an end... May we suggest a delicious Light Lager or shandy on the SKB patio this fine afternoon???

Get out here and kick back with a fresh pint, some sunshine and even some delicious eats from our buddy Chef Terrell and Dark Horse Grill and Catering! They will be popping up at 5pm today and will have a fine selection of eclectic food for ya (check out the full menu in the comments below)

We are just one week away from our next 90.9 WDCB Live Jazz Night in the Brewery! Next Tuesday, Sept. 8th, we are welcoming the amazing Thaddeus Tukes Quartet to the SKB stage, presented by our friends at WDCB radio for a LIVE broadcast from 7 to 8pm, followed by another set of music for those in house!

This event is open to the public (21+), though free standing room is very limited, so if ya wanna secure yourself a spot to sit there are just a few seats left available to reserve online only at skb.social/jazz

It's the start of a brand new week, and in just 2 days, we have Workout Wednesday: Intro to Pilates w/ Club Pilates Woodridge (and Beer!)

There are only a few spots left if you would like to join us, sign-ups are online only at skb.social/class (sorry ya gotta copy and paste the link, but you can blame Meta 🙄)

Pilates is a low-impact exercise method that builds core strength, improves flexibility, enhances posture, and supports mental well-being through controlled movements and mindful breathing. It is suitable for all fitness levels (and helps prevent injuries!). Check out all the deets in the event page above.

Man, this weekend is just FULL of surprises 😃

Not only can ya make it into the SKB taproom and get yourself a delicious, fresh pour of our "Shoot the Glass" Marzen-style lager but we also have the wonderful Nestor pulling up with the Grumpy Gaucho Food Truck this afternoon at 5pm!!!

Come grab a pint and enjoy a selection of empanadas and churros while ya sip! The SKB taproom is open from noon to 11pm tonight... YOU deserve it!

PROST!!!

Not only is it Friday and your weekend is here, but we are thrilled to announce that one of our yearly seasonal faves has finally made it back to our taplist... come and have your first pour of "Shoot the Glass", our Marzen-style Oktoberfest Lager!!!

Clocking in at a healthy 6.5% ABV, this gorgeous, copper colored lager is refreshing and malty in all the right ways. Come and grab yourself a draft pour TONIGHT!!!

We also have our pals from Good Omen Gyoza popping up this evening so you can also get your fill of delicious handmade dumplings, noodle bowls and more, starting at 5pm!

Perhaps today IS a good day for a Hefe!

The SKB taproom is open from 4pm to 10pm this evening and among our 10 beers on tap this week, be sure and stop in for a pour of one of our Summer faves, "Bavarian Breeze"!

This delightful Hefeweizen is our annual collab with our pals from Goldfinger Brewing Company and is absolutely perfect for a patio sipper as the Summer sneaks away from us. Leave your mid-week work woes with other willing workmates this Wednesday and come treat yourself to a pour!

Need a break from the week already? Us too. Join us tonight for Quiet Time Tuesday from 3-7pm, when we turn our vocal cords off and turn the relaxing waaaayyyy up.

Though we're not usually open on Tuesdays, today we are temporarily transforming the Lounge into a nearly-silent oasis where you can grab a drink and enjoy a few chapters of your current read, dig into a project, or just chill for a bit.

Order beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages via our text-based ordering system without having to talk to a single soul. Light, atmospheric music plays in the background to mask ambient sounds, but headphones are always an option, too.

If you're feeling chatty, we invite you to visit us tomorrow instead, when we revert to our normal, conversational selves.

The SKB taproom is open tonight from 4pm to 10pm, so cut outta work a bit early and come see us for your first beer of the work week 🤪

We are also excited to announce our next 90.9 WDCB Live Jazz Night in the Brewery (click the event for full details!) coming on Tuesday, September 8th! This time, the Thaddeus Tukes Quartet will be performing in the Lounge at Skeleton Key and WDCB will be broadcasting it over the airwaves on 90.9FM from 7 to 8pm, with an additional set of music from 8:15 to 9pm!

As always, this show is 21+ and free to attend, but there is only VERY limited standing room available in the Lounge on a first-come, first-served basis. You can, however, reserve seating for this one-time event (full tables available, too!), and you can choose where you want to sit when you reserve your seats in advance. Seat reservations will go live tomorrow (8/25) at noon at skb.social/jazz

There ain't a lotta weather guarantees in this crazy Chicagoland Summer of Two Thousand Twenty-six, but damn if today doesn't look like our potential for a pleasantly sunny day is nigh INVULNERABLE 🥄

Come enjoy some gorgeous patio time with us today from noon til 11pm, and dig into some freshly grilled smash burgers from our friends at Boom Box Burgers starting at 6pm!

We are also excited to welcome our pal Bryan Tapella to the SKB stage for the first time tonight! Bryan has the night off from pouring beers in Lisle and we are lucky to have him here ready to play some tunes starting at 730pm. Get ready for an eclectic mix of covers from just about every genre you can imagine! (BYO Air guitars)
