We craft wines that are terroir-driven with luscious, complex fruit. We focus on balance and restraint, so our wines age very well. Like many of the most respected wineries in Europe, we release wines a bit later than most so they have time to rest, integrate and express their fullest flavor complexities. Owners Bijal and Sinead Shah started Woodhouse Wines Estates with Bijal's uncle, Tom Campbell, in 2004. Tom Campbell is a Washington original and one of the most respected winemakers in Washington State. Joining a group of other winery greats in Woodinville, WA Woodhouse quickly drew attention with our beautifully crafted wines. Our flagship wine, the Darighe, which means "red" in Gaelic, was so named after Sinead's Irish roots. Next, we introduced the Dussek and Maghee labels, named after family friends. And finally we created Kennedy Shah and Hudson Shah labels, so named after Bijal and Sinead's daughter and son. Having made wine from Sonoma to Monterey and Montana, he worked for many years as the enologist at Chateau Ste. Michelle's Grandview Winery, on of Washington's oldest and most prestigious wineries. Jean-Claude Beck, our winemaker, comes from several generations of French winemakers. His family estate in Alsace, France has been producing wine since 1579. With winemaking in his blood, Jean Claude has demonstrated expertise in the cultivation of diverse varietals at various wineries in California, and at Apex Cellars and Owen Roe in Washington State. To quote a European gourmet magazine, Feinschmecken, "everything that this winemaker turns to gold in the bottle." Jean Claude's motto is "No boring wines!"
