Our new bar hours for 2023. Unfortunately with the closing of the kitchen we had to make some drastic cuts to our team starting with the highest paid employee, the credit card machine. That overpaid do nothing item has been kicked to the curb. Tomczaks is now cash only with an ATM available. Next on the chopping block is Comcast. We are really looking forward to that battle and will keep you posted on the results.

Well folks, the time has come for Tomczak's Tap to ride off into the sunset. We have made the decision to close our kitchen as of Jan 1st 2023. The bar will remain open as long as it can, or someone comes in with a briefcase full of cash to buy the property. While saddened by this decision, this decision was ours, and ours alone to make. Doing this now allows us to go out on our terms. Your support over the last 49 years has made all the blood, sweat, tears, and even a few severe injuries, totally worth it. This is why we are giving you plenty of time to come in for that last burger, steak sandwich, or Friday fish fry. While we are going to be totally transparent through this entire process, I don't think we will be able to look at this post again, so any questions will not be answered or addressed here. You'll have to come see us for a meal or a drink if you want to ask any questions.

Our cod supply got us 1 more week. This is probably the last of it for at least a month and I'm pretty sure we will run out sometime during dinner service this evening. There's plenty to get through lunch and we'll be ready at 11am!

We held off as long as we could but with cod prices alone being over 2 times (up 135%) what it was 6 months ago, it was either raise the prices or stop fish fry altogether. On the bright side, cod is plentiful at the moment with stock to get us through October!

Tomczaks has cod again! We obtained enough stock to last 3 weeks. Unfortunately the price on all fish had skyrocketed yet again. Fortunately for you, we have not had time to address this on our menu. Might take us a week or so, take advantage of this while you can.😁

The last of our fantastic cod supply has been prepped and is ready to serve. It will be gone before dinner service ends and unfortunately there was only subpar product on the shelves this week. So come in for lunch and you won't miss out!

It's 655 am Monday morning at Restaurant Depot. While waiting for the doors to open, I noticed another person walk up behind me. Seeing his shirt referencing a fish fry I instantly knew why he was there. The same reason I was there, the cod. I quickly sized up my opponent. He was younger, stronger, faster, but not quite as good looking as myself. I knew my only chance was my wits. Having been in this position before, I was fully prepared and knew exactly what needed to be done. As the door opened I allowed him to go in first, as he scanned his card to get in and ran for 1st cart, I passed him by, walked toward the cod and stopped by the 1st employee I saw. I reached out to shake his hand with a $20 bill in mine. I said, “Good morning, can you please help me load up a cart with all your 6 to 8 oz cod fillets you have?” “Sure thing,” he said with a smile. And the rest is history.
Ok, so none of that really happened but we did get more of the biggest, meatiest, most delicious cod fillets we've been able to get in a long time. We will have more prepared this week than last week as well as having enough for the following week. Hopefully this continues. We'll obviously keep you informed with more tales of the cod.

We have some cod and it is fantastic. It's the same label we had a few months ago that was probably the best we've ever had. Very limited supply and we split it to last 2 weeks, so lunch or early dinner is your best chance 🐟

Our fry cook is back and we're just gonna leave it there. We think he might have enjoyed his week of isolation a little too much as his people skills seemed to have regressed. He already shut off the ringer on the phone in the kitchen 🙄. So we're just gonna leave him in the kitchen to do his thing. Food service is back to normal hours, 11am to 8pm Thursday and Friday, 12pm to 7pm Saturday and we gotta try to make up for last week so come have a burger!
