I haven’t posted anything about the current situation here or on any of my personal pages because I am honestly at a loss for words, but it is well past time that I do. The death of George Floyd and other Black people of color at the hands of the police is not just unacceptable but also absolutely despicable. Protesters have turned out in droves in Minneapolis and other cities across the country to demand justice and systemic change, yet in many places these demonstrations have become riots, resulting in the injury, arrest, and in some places deaths of yet more folks.
Tonight’s virtual GWD quiz on Twitch will be a fundraiser for Black Vision Collective (https://www.blackvisionsmn.org/), a black, q***r, and trans led organization that works toward dismantling systems of violence and oppression. Although this isn’t exactly a Quiz For A Cause since we won’t have a cash prize for the winning team, we feel that it is important to support this organization.
