CRACK OPEN A CLASSIC BEER

Our selection of classic European beers is immense, and they are the beers that inspired our lives. You should ask your bartender and taste through some of our favorites. Each has a special story inside each bottle.

Zinnebir—by brasseriedelasenne is one of those beers that stands out from Brussels. A Belgian Pale Ale with those classic Belgian yeast notes, stone fruit flavors from a selection of gorgeous hops, citrus acidity, and a malty backbone. It’s perfect for this chilly, misty weekend, almost feels like we are back in Belgium.

One of the first beers that started our beer adventures. Grab a bottle the next time you come in!

Introducing: ODIN

Today, we tapped something that’s new for us—a honey based fermentation—mead. This is ODIN, our first ever exploration in mead, made with local Maine honey with our foraging & beekeeping friend Eli.

Made with wildflower and blueberry honey from Swan's Honey in Albion, Maine fermented dry with native yeasts, and aged on foraged Anise Hyssop. The base mead is dry with complex notes of honeycomb, citrus flowers, and cardamom finishing at 9.8% abv. We then aged it for over two years in barrels before resting on dried Anise Hyssop for several months. Anise Hyssop is a native herb used in teas and salads that grows profoundly in some places that we forage apples. When added to the mead it introduces flavors of black licorice, fennel, mint, and tarragon. Apple blossom season is a great time to enjoy a mead, as the bees begin to buzz around, reminding us how integral they are to our food system.

Come sip on an Odin with us—a truly botanical mead made to be enjoyed among the apple blossoms. Only available by the glass in our tasting room.

ANOCHE {Translates to: Last Night}

For the last four years we’ve teamed up with our cider, gin, vermouth, pintxos, and tin fish buddies — from Anoche Portland — for an epic party.

The next iteration of this epic party will take place in on Saturday, June 6th from 5-8pm at Anoché Portland on Washington Ave in Portland-Maine. Adding to the vibes, DJ Gabe FM will be spinning some records and putting together an epic vinyl set.

Each year we celebrate Maine ciders and the Spanish and Portuguese influences on everything we do. Every year, we tap a ton of different ciders we’ve made, for an extra special cider selection not seen outside of our tasting room.

For the celebration, we made our yearly collaboration cider made with foraged apples from the foothills around Portland and foraged apples from Rangeley, Farmington, Bethel, Lovell, and Oxford—called Last Night.

We will release Last Night on draft and in bottles at both locations (in Winthrop and Portland). Our Winthrop celebration on Wednesday, June 3rd from 4-9pm, and our celebration in Portland on Saturday, June 6th from 5-8pm.

This celebration ends up being a community gathering with some of our favorite fermentation buddies, industry friends, close family, and good ole friends. It’s a grand time, and our team will be onsite for the whole event sharing drinks, stories, and maybe a porrón to the face.

Join us for one of our favorite days of the year. Cheers to the team at Anoche, we can’t wait to hang!
