Now serving: 21UP 3.2 Lager! This 3.2% American wheat beer is brewed this year with Admiral’s Hourani wheat, an ancient regenerative variety grown by Full Belly Farms. This session beer is delicate and clean and the slight addition of Dolcita and NZ hops give it a nice citrus zing. “3.2” beers were originated around the end of prohibition. The 3.2% was a number agreed on as a compromise to legalize low point beers which eventually phased out but was then revived by several states in the 1970s with a drinking age of 18 for 3.2 beers. That also eventually phased out when those states changed to 21+ drinking age and “3.2” beers are now less common in the marketplace.
