✨ EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT ✨
This week we’re celebrating the man, the myth, the legend… Chef Jose! 👨‍🍳⚓️
Jose has officially been with The Boathouse for 26 YEARS — since the very beginning. Which honestly means there is no Boathouse without Jose. ❤️
He is the heart of our kitchen, the calm in the chaos, and the guy somehow holding everything together while tickets are flying, pans are sizzling, and somebody is definitely asking him a question he already answered 3 times. 😂
If you’ve ever had an amazing meal here, chances are Jose had something to do with it. He leads with passion, consistency, and a whole lot of heart. He takes care of this kitchen like it’s his home… and in many ways, it is.
And somehow through all the stress, he still keeps us laughing every single day. Whether he’s cracking jokes, giving “the look” across the line, or reminding us how things should actually be done, Jose keeps the kitchen running and the staff sane(ish). 😅
Truthfully… the only mistakes Jose has ever made were probably on Mother’s Day (his words not ours)😂🌸
A little about Jose:
⚽️ Huge soccer fan who traveled to Spain to watch Real Madrid play
🍽️ Shows love through food — and NEVER cooks just one thing
🚲 Loves spending time outside with the kids riding bikes, playing at the park, and running through sprinklers
❤️ Favorite Boathouse memory? Meeting his wife
🥩 Favorite dishes: Prime Rib or the Greek Salad (depending on the day)
Jose — thank you for 26 incredible years of leadership, loyalty, laughter, hard work, and unforgettable food. The Boathouse truly would not exist without you, and we are so lucky to have you as part of this family.

✨ EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT ✨
This week we’re featuring the guy who keeps this crazy ship afloat… our fearless leader, Kyle! ⚓️
Kyle has officially been at The Boathouse for 21 YEARS… which honestly means he deserves either a trophy, a vacation, or at minimum unlimited Baja Fish Tacos. 😂

When asked about his favorite Boathouse memory, he said it’s impossible to pick just one. From laughing so hard with staff they’re crying (or hyperventilating 😅), to surviving crunch-time chaos together, to all the unforgettable “Boathouse shenanigans” over the years — the people have always been his favorite part.
And if you know Kyle, that makes perfect sense.
One thing he loves most is hearing guests leave happy — especially when they rave about their server or their experience. At the end of the day, creating memories and building relationships is what it’s all about.

A little about Kyle:
⚓️ Proud dad to Ava, the light of his life. (The sweetest little girl )
🐾 Dog dad x3
🎾 Loves tennis, skiing, pool days & naps with his phone on “Do Not Disturb”
📺 Professional binge watcher of shows and movies.
🏖️ Ohio native who came to Winona Lake for Grace College… and thankfully never left.
He also admitted most employees think he’s intimidating at first… but once you learn “the Boathouse way,” he softens up eventually. (Keyword: eventually. 😂)

And for the important stuff…
Kyle’s all-time favorite Boathouse meal since DAY ONE is the Blackened & Bleu Cheese Crusted Salmon with Smashed Potatoes & Garlic Green Beans 🔥
Close second? His Baja Fish Tacos, obviously.
Kyle — thank you for 21 years of leadership, hard work, memories, and caring deeply about both your staff and guests. The Boathouse truly wouldn’t be what it is without you. ❤️⚓️

Today we’re celebrating the seniors on our staff — the ones somehow balancing school, work, sports, senioritis, and probably surviving off iced coffee, energy drinks, and “I’ll do it later.” 😂🎓
Watching these kids grow into hardworking, responsible young adults has been such a blessing. They show up, work hard, make us laugh daily, and keep this place running (even if half their paycheck goes straight to gas, snacks, and DoorDash).
We are SO proud of each of you and excited to see where life takes you next. Never forget how capable, talented, and important you are.
Please help us congratulate our amazing seniors! ❤️🎉 Class of 2026 🎓👩‍🎓👨‍🎓
